“Most of the visitors to local museums come as antiquarians or genealogists. It’s neat to see up close a stunning Civil War long rifle, an exquisite child’s needlepoint sampler, or a vintage plat map with your great-great grandparents name on it. A beautifully preserved historic building arouses one’s curiosity as to what’s inside. The caretakers and docents are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet.

The Jonathan Clark House can offer something else. It has a story to tell – one rivaling what fiction writers can make up. Here in Thiensville and Mequon, it’s a great story, although not without its trials and tribulations. And it has much to teach us about how we got to where we are today. It’s my wish that the Jonathan Clark House will be a place where Local History is preserved and handed down to future generations.” Sam Cutler, supporter and volunteer.
